Last summer I spent two weeks in Romania doing mission work with a group called YWAM. It was one of the most exciting, and challenging experiences of my life. From the people to the pastures, it is absolutely beautiful.
At the beginning of the school year I even entertained fledgling plans to spend a year between high school and college in Romania. After many months of prayer, careful reflection, and motherly advice, I will not be making the trip this fall.
The choice to go to college next fall was the right one for me, but, now, as I wade through tedious college plans, I cannot help but reminisce. Below are some photos so that you can share the memories with me...

A horse-drawn cart ambles down a street in a small town called Laslea.

Hey, farmer!

A large group of female Romani (gypsies) live in this house, known as "The Castle".
There is just a tiny taste of what the country feels like. If you'd like to hear more about my trip, let me know. I'd love to sit down for a minute or a week and tell you about it.
The castle seems something of an anachronism with respect to the other photos-- adds to the mystique of the place. You'll go back, perhaps not in the fall, but you'll go back. Doesn't take long for people and a place to grow on you.
