Ukulele

I play the ukulele. Well, it is better to say that I attempt to play the ukulele. I know a few songs, but really I am just starting. In learning to play songs that sound pretty on the ukulele, I came across a woman named Ingrid Michaelson. She makes playing the uke look cool. Click the picture below to check her out.

I saw her live with my mother just the other day and she was fabulous!! There was a moment in the concert when the band abruptly stopped playing in the middle of a song. They shared a meaningful look and then sprinted around the stage. Ingrid ran to the drums, the bassist ran to lead, the keyboard player ran to the uke, and so on. Thy picked up the song as though nothing had happened. The band was more like a family than a group of musicians.

It is safe to say that she is my favorite artist to date.
