However, there are bright spots from time to time. When they come along, I cannot help but find myself actually wanting to learn. Such a thing is highly irregular, and, if word gets out, I'll lose all of my street cred.
A bright spot occurred today in AP Biology. We're learning about evolution. I've never really understood the idea of evolution before now. In essence, it is a way of explaining the nearly incomprehensible vastness of biological diversity. It maps how we can begin as very simply animals and change and grow as a species over time. With an idea that extreme, how can you not be excited to learn more?! The idea itself marries science with philosophy and ties in the poetry and art found in nature. It is nothing short of astounding!
Part of the theory states that a geographical barrier between members of the same species can lead to an evolution of brand new species that have adapted to their own particular environment. There are 13 different species of finch! Each species adapted to its new home as necessary for survival. It's amazing, really.

I suppose people are the same way. Each nation has it own culture and adaptations to survive in their unique environments. But, what happens to the wanderlusters? What are our particular set of adapatations that make us suited for that kind of life?
Or, perhaps, as you adapt to life on the road, you will evolve so much that you become an entirely new species.

We all came from apes!
