Signs of Spring

I awoke to the sound of birds outside my window. I rolled out of bed and began to prepare for the day. After I getting dressed, I ambled downstairs for breakfast. As I was pouring myself some coffee, I heard noises coming from the back yard. My dad was on the patio playing guitar. His basso profundo filled the crisp morning air.

The ride to school was absolutely gorgeous. The valley was filled with a light fog and the sun had barely risen. There was still a bit of frost on the grass. The farms rolled by as I made my way toward school.

That day passed rather uneventfully. During sixth period we spent the hour outside in the courtyard sitting by the pond watching ducks and soaking up the beautiful sunny day.

After school I went to Greeenwood Furnace with my sister, Amy and my little Jack Russel, Zoe. We went for a hike around the lake and through the woods, enjoying our newly awakened environment.

That evening was spent around a campfire on our patio. We roasted s'mores and chatted for hours.

A perfect end to a perfect spring day.
